Church Action Group (CAG)

The members of the Church Action Group (CAG) come together and have a lot of fun!
Anyone may join the group (male and female).

We communicate via WhatsApp reducing the need for meetings though when we do meet, we cover the work needed but also have time for chat.

We aim to take on any job that needs to be done from cleaning the silver to organising fundraising events and if we can, support the Parish Priest.

If you wish to join any of these groups please contact Ann Darkins

Monthly Coffee Morning

We hold monthly coffee mornings in the Parish room on a Thursday from 10.30-12.30

(see latest Newsletter for the next one).

There is tea, coffee (fresh), cakes, scones, sausage rolls and cheese and onion pie available and a raffle is held.

All are welcome especially the local community, our own Parishioners and Parishioners from our adjacent Parishes of Downham, Fakenham and Dereham.

In addition, there is a rota for providing coffee and biscuits after the 10.00 Mass at Swaffham on Tuesday and the 10.30 Mass at Swaffham on Sunday (where there is often lovely cake too).

There is also coffee & biscuits at the 17.00 Vigil Mass at Watton on Saturday on some Saturdays.

Silver and brass cleaning

We meet twice a year to clean the church silver and brass before Christmas and before Easter. There is always plenty of chatter, coffee and cake and of course polishing!

Church cleaning

There is a rota for the general church cleaning. Those cleaning the church work in pairs and at a day and time to suit themselves. We are always in need of more volunteers for this so please speak to Ann Darkins if you can help.

Church Garden & Grounds

A small group of volunteers led by Paul keep our grounds tidy, cutting the grassed areas, weeding and trimming shrubs.

If you are able to offer one hour once a month to assist with this work we will add you to the rota.

Please inform Fr Mark if you can help.
